ART JOURNEY AND ACCOLADES
In October 2022, my artwork, "Love Carrots," shown below, was chosen to be in the 64th Parallel Juried Exhibition Show at the Bear Gallery in Fairbanks! In November, I participated in a "Limited Edition" art show at the Bear Gallery where happy collectors bought my Muskox relief prints and Northern Nights framed mini prints, with all art submitted required to be under 12' x 12" in size!
MORE HAPPY HONORS!
My artwork (below) was chosen to be featured on the cover of "Alaska Women Speak" in the Winter 2022 issue, a literary journal published quarterly in Alaska. This journal also featured my hand painted "Northern Nights Alaska Art Tile" and a beautiful and chilly, Arctic winter landscape photo I captured, inside the journal. It was an honor to have been chosen for this wonderful Alaska publication.
ABOUT ME
I love being in nature and spent most of my childhood outdoors. Summers were the best -- running barefoot through the grass, swimming and tubing in the nearby rivers, and sleeping under the stars at night with friends.
Since I was a young girl I have loved creating things and have enjoyed exploring many mediums. From creating leather goods and sewn apparel to explorations in macramé, pottery and printmaking.
In college, I took coursework in business and entrepreneurship, studied graphic design and web design, and discovered the world of digital art. After graduation, I founded my company, Santa’s Letters and Gifts, and designed and built my company’s first website. It was fun to design the Santa Letter stationery for my company and the fun gift packages for kids, as well as our birchbark gift tags, ornament tags, in-house designs, marketing materials and more.
Fast forward to 2023, and after 20+ years, I closed Santa's Letters and Gifts to move forward with my new art journey. My former company was a huge source of inspiration, creativity, and connections with many wonderful customers and friends, and I will always be grateful for the opportunity to have these amazing connections and experiences.
Today, I am exploring different mediums including learning surface pattern design while I continue painting and printmaking. The outdoors has been the biggest inspiration for creating my artwork and I am grateful to live in Alaska where there are so many beautiful landscapes, wild flora and fauna, and our lovely garden and flowers.
In closing, my mission is to create cheerful artwork and designs that celebrate the beauty and wonder of nature (and life). Thank you for visiting my store and I look forward to connecting.
